Overview
Jeroen Stiers is Product Owner Belmap and Solutions Architect at GIM - smart geo insights, and is based in Leuven. He joined GIM in August 2015 as a geodata engineer and took up the product owner and solutions architect role in January 2021. Since July 2024 he has also been a nature investor with Planet Wild.
Before joining GIM, he worked at KU Leuven as a projectmedewerker on GeoMobiel from August 2014 to June 2015, and as a PAL tutor between January 2012 and December 2014. From September 2013 to May 2014 he was a trainee geography teacher in secondary education.
At Merkator Leuven vzw he was praeses from 2010 to 2011, then chair of the board of directors and onderwijsverantwoordelijke from 2011 to 2012, having earlier held responsibility for the Kerstfeest Geografie in late 2009.
He completed a Master of Science in Geografie in 2014, with onderscheiding, alongside a teacher training programme in aardrijkskunde, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Geografie with a minor in informatics.
