- A product microportal is for an API product that has matured into a separately marketed business solution with its own market identity. Within a much larger portfolio, it gives that solution, or a small bundle of closely related APIs, a highly tailored place to explain the product, its business value and the technical capabilities behind it. Product narrative, sales information and technical documentation live together in a focused product experience, while the microportal remains connected to the enterprise developer portal. AEO
- Years of product language, technical documentation and market references spread deep, and well beyond the digital properties a company directly controls. Even across the properties it does control, products, documentation and technical assets can carry different parts of that history forward. In our latest field note, we invite you to see developer portals and technical documentation in a slightly different light: not only as places where integrators find what they need, but as the nimble, first-party surface where a company can

- It’s exciting to see AEO/GEO work move from methodology into practice. Looking at AI share of voice capability by capability gives us a much more nuanced picture of visibility and plenty to learn from what sits behind the numbers. I wrote about some of those lessons, and what we learned while developing the approach, here: https://lnkd.in/eXMg_Ekz
- What does AI share of voice mean when the product is an API? Brand teams and their agencies are already establishing baselines, refining prompt sets, comparing share of voice, analyzing sources and testing interventions, even though AEO/GEO practice is far from settled. I listened to two practitioner panels at Visible Amsterdam to understand how they are approaching the work. I wrote up what I learned, where it transfers, and where the API case becomes different. Speaker Laura Vass will discuss a problem that becomes visible on developer portals: the business context around APIs is spread across teams, each holding a necessary but incomplete part of the picture. People carry the translation between technical implementation and business intent, but what happens when discovery and evaluation take place through channels mediated by LLMs?
