Overview
Lorenzo Billiet is co-founder and CFO of emvi, based in Oudenburg. He founded emvi.ai in February 2023 and has run 2driveU as zaakvoerder since January 2016. Since September 2020 he has been a researcher in ergotherapie at Hogeschool VIVES, and he has sat on the general assembly of Ergotherapie Vlaanderen VZW since 2017. In 2025 he became a board member of ENVITER, the European Network for Vision Impairment Training Education and Research.
Billiet spent more than a decade at Blindenzorg Licht en Liefde, joining as a vormingsmedewerker in May 2012 and going on to serve as directieadviseur for bedrijfsplanning, innovatie en projecten, as coördinator of the ambulante dienstverlening in West-Vlaanderen, and from July 2017 to December 2025 as adjunct directeur. Earlier, from August 2009 to January 2012, he worked at a lokaal dienstencentrum of OCMW Gent.
He holds a bachelor's degree in ergotherapie from the Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende (2009), a master's in bedrijfskunde from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2015) and a PhD from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2020).
