Overview
Luigi Brancato is Chief Technology Officer at elmedix, based in Leuven. He joined ElmediX as an R&D engineer in June 2019 and took up the role of Chief Technology Officer in September 2021, adding responsibility as Quality Manager in November 2025.
Before joining ElmediX, he was a research assistant at MICAS (KU Leuven) from November 2012 to June 2019, a period that coincided with his doctoral studies. He completed a PhD in electrical and electronics engineering at KU Leuven between 2012 and 2019. He holds a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, and spent 2011 to 2012 at the University of Patras on an Erasmus programme in bioengineering and biomedical engineering.

- A fun and effective way to remind us that communication needs to be tailored to the audience to ensure the message gets delivered in the best possible way. Too often, the use of abbreviations, jargon, and complex explanations gets in the way of the core message. In my professional experience, I have repeatedly observed that this is how insecure people stroke their ego or (even more often) try to hide a fundamental lack of understanding of the topic.
