- From simple idea to a world record! Every week I listen to Ben's Mentors. An inspiring podcast between Ben De Coninck and entrepreneurs that share their story & insights. Enzo Maenhaut was one of the guests and his take on community building was what got me very excited. Reached out after, not for anything, just wanted him in my network. - 90% of the people I still hang out with, I met on a dancefloor. Not because the dancefloor made us friends. It filtered us. Same taste in music, same energy on a random Saturday out, same reason for being there at 3am. That's enough to notice someone. The actual friendship happens after. Outside of it. A coffee, a project, a brainstorm, a trip, just showing up for each other's stuff and supporting each other. That's the part I feel people miss when they think or talk about community. - Back at Love Tomorrow tomorrow. And Friday, Tomorrowland. For me, these days are about much more than the music. It's a chance to reconnect with people I've worked with, meet new faces and have the kind of conversations that often turn into ideas, collaborations or friendships months later. - Last Friday we tried something different at From Dusk Till Dawn. No tickets. No stage. No pressure. Just an afterwork to catch up, talk music, dig through some records and finally meet some of the people behind the messages and the familiar faces on the dancefloor. We planned to wrap up around 10pm... ...it ended up being close to midnight😄 I guess that's what happens when you put a bunch of music lovers together in a record store. Thanks to GENX RECORDS & everyone who came by. We already have a few ideas for the next one. Et 🌓
- Ghent people 👋 Today we’re doing something a little different. Instead of another big event, we’re simply getting together at GENX RECORDS to kick off the Gentse Feesten. Expect vinyl, good conversations, a drink and a chance to meet people who share a love for electronic music. - Almost a year of work behind 1 minute of footage. Our last From Dusk Till Dawn Open Air at Park van Beervelde. One day and night, a lineup built on discovery instead of big names. The video shows the easy part to love. The light, the people, the energy. What it doesn't show is the year before it, and the team and partners who carried it with me. None of this happens alone. Standing in that field watching it come alive is why I keep going. Thanks to everyone who contributed in his own way to make this event happen together with us!
- Not my festival this time. Just one of the helping hands. Spent the hottest week of the year at the build up of Paradise City Festival. Painting, carrying, doing what the production lead says, soaked by 9am. Something breaks every hour out there and nobody panics. People read it, make the call, keep moving. That’s the part I love about this work. I run my own events most of the year, so stepping back into the boots is the best reset there is. Stay cool this weekend & see you on the dancefloor!
- One of my favourite moments during our From Dusk Till Dawn Open Air had nothing to do with the music. During the event, we brought together a group of people from across the event industry for an informal meetup. I've always believed our industry becomes stronger when people share knowledge, make introductions and help each other grow. Building events is hard enough already. Let's collaborate more and compete less 🙏
