Mike Noonen

Overview

Mike Noonen is CEO of Swave Photonics, a Leuven-based deep-tech startup that raised EUR 43M to develop holographic display chips for augmented reality glasses.

Mike Noonen is chief executive officer of Swave Photonics in Leuven, a role he took up in October 2022, and since June 2026 he has also served the company as a board member and executive advisor. He sits on the boards of Silver Pegasus Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: SPEGU) and Finwave Semiconductor, Inc., and since 2014 has held board director and advisory roles at Qromis, Eva AI, Kenyi, SiFive, Mythic, Proteantecs, Jeeva, Energous, Rambus and LocatorX. He was a director of SK Growth Opportunities Corporation and of SES AI Corp.

Before Swave Photonics he was chief executive officer of MixComm Inc from 2019 to 2022, and led global marketing, sales and business development at Silego Technology Inc. He was a board director and interim chief executive of Ambiq Micro, and co-founded Silicon Catalyst, serving as its chairman, both from 2014 to 2016. Earlier he was executive vice president at GLOBALFOUNDRIES and at NXP Semiconductors, and held senior sales and marketing and product line roles at National Semiconductor from 2001 to 2008. He began his career at NCR Corporation, then 8x8 and Cisco Systems.

Noonen holds a BS in electrical engineering from Colorado State University and a corporate governance certificate from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
