Overview
Nico Vansina is a co-founder of art-robotics, and is based in Herent. He co-founded ART Robotics in September 2018.
Before that he spent two years at Siemens PLM Software as a business developer, from September 2016 to August 2018. He had joined Siemens PLM Software once before, working as an application engineer for model based system engineering between September 2012 and September 2015, and in the intervening year he was a project engineer at Argon Measuring Solutions.
Vansina studied at KU Leuven, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 2009 and a Master of Science in the same field in 2011, followed by a Master of Science in management in 2012.

- True optimal energy control requires more than just reading a smart meter. It requires two distinct simulation models working perfectly together. Predicting energy costs means predicting physical reality. Here is how the Energy Robot handles the workflow: Building Thermal Simulation: We create a digital twin by sketching your building floor by floor. We then run automated calibrations to minimize the difference between simulation and measured data. This predicts internal temperatures to evaluate minimum and maximum limits.
- Take a moment to look at the energy prices from the last 7 days. At 1:00 PM you got paid to consume power and a few hours later prices spiked over €200/MWh. Most businesses did not even notice. Their chillers, cold rooms, and HVAC systems ran on the exact same fixed schedule they always do. They missed the free power at midday. Then they paid top dollar for electricity a few hours later. You do not need giant container batteries to benefit from market swings. You only need to connect 3 things: 🔗 Live day-ahead dynamic
- Taking a break is the best way to spot a broken system. I just spent two weeks in France with my family and friends. No laptops. No alerts. Just good food and a total mental reset. I came back to the office yesterday with a clear head and a lot of energy. But the contrast hit me immediately. Humans naturally know how to power down and recharge efficiently. Your facility needs to learn how to do the exact same thing. Our Energy Robot connects your business processes with live dynamic prices so your factory automatically powers down
- Building the missing link between business processes and energy management takes more than technical skills alone. It takes serious backing. We just wrapped up an important meeting with Capital Blue Partners in Breda. We are aligned on the strategy and are expanding our partnership to roll out the Energy Robot! Stay tuned.
- Vlaams Energie- en Klimaatagentschap made Building Automation and Control System (BACS) mandatory for non-residential buildings with HVAC systems > 290 kW. This will even be extended to smaller buildings with HVAC systems > 70 kW in 2029. The goal is to better monitor and optimize energy consumption, ... but this rule is actually the perfect excuse to also cut your utility bills! Our Energy Robot acts as the missing link between your physical hardware and live energy markets. We integrate your current equipment to achieve automatic
- Does your equipment know what electricity costs right now? Your hotel chillers or food production lines might run perfectly to hit quality targets, but they operate completely blind to volatile energy prices. Traditional systems simply aren't built to solve the full equation: ➡️ Legacy BMS: Phenomenal at active climate and process control, but ignores dynamic energy prices. ➡️ Standard EMS: Gives great insight into your energy assets, but does not act on this information. ➡️ Advanced EMS: Controls your solar & battery assets, but
