Overview
Niels Bosmans is the founder of Refaqt, which he started in July 2023, and is based in Leuven. From January 2019 to December 2024 he was a co-founder of Invenira, and between September 2017 and June 2021 he was founder and owner of Innovate Precision.
He was a system architect at Flanders Make from June 2018 to May 2021, and earlier in 2018 worked as a research and development project engineer at VCST Industrial Products. In 2017 he was R&D manager at Wielandts UPMT. At KU Leuven he was a PhD researcher from August 2010 to February 2016 and then lab manager until February 2017. He began his career with internships at Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2009 and at Philips from 2009 to 2010.
Bosmans studied mechanical-electrical engineering and then mechanical engineering at KU Leuven, completing a bachelor's degree in 2008, a master's in 2010 and a PhD in 2016. He attended a PhD summer school on micro mechanical systems design and manufacture at DTU in 2012, a course at Mines Paris - PSL in 2009, and an edX course on engineering design for a circular economy in 2021.
