Rheea Mukherjee

Overview

Rheea Mukherjee is a co-founder of Moonbird, where she has worked in creative communications since April 2024. She is based in Bengaluru.

Between July and August 2025 she was a research, communications and design assistant at FairWork. She was head of branding and content at NIRA from March 2023 to March 2024, and a media fellow at FIAPO- Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations from August 2022 to April 2023. From October 2021 to March 2023 she was senior content manager at Una Brands.

Earlier, she co-founded Write Leela Write, which she ran from May 2014 to October 2021, and co-founded Bangalore Writers Workshop, where she was involved from 2012 to 2014. She was a communications consultant at FourthLion Technologies from September 2013 to May 2014, an English ESL teacher at L’Ecole de Design from February 2012 to August 2013, international editor of Eleven Eleven Journal from 2009 to 2010, and a residential treatment counsellor at Savio House in 2008.

Mukherjee holds an MFA in creative writing from California College of the Arts, completed in 2011, and a bachelor's degree in social work from Colorado State University.
