Van der Veer spent six years leading digital transformation at Kunstmaan before SettleMint, and describes further work building data marketplaces and developer tools. He works in TypeScript and Kubernetes and writes about AI-assisted development workflows. A January 2026 post draws on eighteen months of running AI agents on production code at SettleMint, and a March 2026 post covers bellwether, a tool aimed at the gap between AI-written code and merged pull requests.
Roderik van der Veer is Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of SettleMint, a company founded in 2016 with Matthew Van Niekerk. He leads its technical direction, platform architecture, and product development and customer success. It received a €1.8 million Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase II grant announced in January 2019 and a €1.591 million VLAIO research and development grant in April 2019, then announced a €16 million Series A on 11 October 2022, co-led by Molten Ventures and OTB with Fujitsu Ventures, Allusion, Bloccelerate and existing investor Medici Ventures, intended to add 60 people globally. Van der Veer stayed in place as Co-Founder and CTO. He has over a decade of experience in digital transformation and speaks about blockchain technology at industry events.

- Adam's emergency control is three different calls. Pause stops the token. Freeze stops a wallet. Forced transfer is the custodian moving it anyway. A console override after the balance already changed is none of those.
- Adam's split is fine. I've watched it become one Linear project. Five owners on the slide. At go-live nobody will hit freeze.
