Overview
Roger Tilmans is the founder of Galatae, a company he started in January 2020, and is based in Brussels.
Between September 2021 and September 2022 he was technical director at Mini-Europe. He founded R3D and served as its CEO from June 2016 to July 2019, and was a director there from August 2019 to March 2021, overlapping with a period as an external consultant to Moknine SPRL from October 2019 to January 2020. Earlier he was a researcher in robotics at the Universidad de Chile in 2016 and a researcher in artificial intelligence at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2015. He was lead engineer at M4KE.IT from August 2014 to May 2015, logistics manager at De Smet Engineers & Contractors (DSEC) in 2013, and a trainee at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in August 2010. He held student jobs through JOBBIZ from 2008 to 2010.
Tilmans took a bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering at the Université libre de Bruxelles from 2009 to 2012, followed by a Master of Engineering in the same field on the joint Université Libre de Bruxelles and Vrije Universiteit Brussel master's programme from 2012 to 2014. He completed his secondary schooling, with a major in mathematics, at College paters jozefieten Melle.
