Steven Tielemans co-founded Theo Technologies in Leuven and led it as CEO until Dolby acquired the video streaming company in 2024.

THEO Technologies was named the fastest growing technology company in the Media & Entertainment category of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 2018 Belgium and ranked 47th in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 2018 EMEA, and THEOplayer won the European Readers' Choice award as best video player solution six years running from 2016 to 2021.

Steven Tielemans is co-founder and was chief executive of Theo Technologies, the Leuven video streaming company behind THEOplayer. The company grew without outside capital for its first years, then announced a $10M Series A in March 2020 led by SmartFin Capital with PMV and Media Invest Vlaanderen. In July 2020 it launched the HESP Alliance with Synamedia around the High Efficiency Streaming Protocol its team had developed, a protocol introduced at NAB 2019 that reaches latency as low as 400ms. By 2022 the company employed more than 85 people from over 20 countries across Leuven, Barcelona, Singapore, New York and San Francisco, and it added THEOlive, an ultra-low latency live streaming product. Dolby announced its acquisition of THEO Technologies on 31 July 2024. Tielemans is based in Leuven and lists Dolby Laboratories as his employer.
