Orange Belgium
TLDR
Orange Belgium is a Brussels-based telecom operator, the second-largest mobile operator in Belgium, listed on Euronext Brussels and majority-owned by the Orange Group.
Overview
Orange Belgium was incorporated in 1996 as Mobistar, a joint venture between Telinfo and France Télécom, and became a publicly listed mobile operator on Euronext Brussels. The company rebranded from Mobistar to Orange on 9 May 2016, following the parent group's broader naming strategy. As of 2026 the company employs around 1,544 people and is majority-owned by Atlas Services Belgium, a holding company of the Orange Group, with a stake of close to 77 percent.
In June 2023 Orange Belgium completed the acquisition of a 75 percent stake minus one share in Walloon cable operator VOO from Nethys, valuing VOO at an enterprise value of EUR 1.8 billion for 100 percent of the capital. The remaining stake is retained by Nethys. The transaction expanded the company's fixed-line footprint into Wallonia and parts of Brussels, and reshaped its convergent retail offering.
In February 2026 Orange Belgium and Telenet signed two commercial fixed wholesale agreements giving each operator access to the other's HFC and FTTH networks.
