Getting technologies to work together is where things get real.
Last week, we hosted the team from Recovered Potential in Belgium, together with HYDROHM, as part of the Next Generation Sanitation Systems (NGSS) Project.
Instead of staying at the conceptual level, we moved straight into the lab.
We set up and ran experiments combining our electrochemical treatment with complementary process steps from our partners. The goal is simple: understand how these systems interact in practice, where the bottlenecks are, and what it takes to make integrated non-sewered sanitation systems work reliably.
These sessions are not about “perfect results”.
They’re about testing assumptions, learning fast, and adjusting designs based on what actually happens.
This collaboration is part of the NGSS Project, implemented by the International Water Association (IWA) with support from the Gates Foundation WASH programme. It gives us the framework to go beyond individual technologies and focus on system-level performance.
Good to have the teams in the same room, working hands-on.
More iterations to come.
