Today is a meaningful milestone for Datalayer
When we started building around Jupyter MCP Server, we had a simple belief: teams should not be locked into a single runtime path to build agentic and notebook-native products.
That is why we evolved Jupyter MCP Server + Code Sandboxes toward multi-sandbox provider support.
What this means in practice:
- one MCP experience
- multiple sandbox backends
- easier movement from local experimentation to production
- less vendor coupling, more architectural freedom
For me, this is not just a feature release. It is a step toward more open, portable AI infrastructure that respects how developers actually work.
