Fine-filtration and low pressure drop are usually presented as a trade-off. Denser packing catches more, but your blower pays for it. Worth questioning that assumption.

In practice, that's meant 20-40% lower pressure drop versus wire mesh at equivalent efficiency, which for a lot of plants translates directly into blower power savings.
In gas cleaning, the filter you don't have to think about (because it's not clogging, not corroding, not driving up your delta-P) is usually the better investment.
