Everyone in mist elimination uses the same basic idea: wire mesh that catches droplets. Almost no one questions the geometry.
We did.
Standard demisters use flat, woven wire mesh with fibers running in multiple directions relative to the gas flow. Ours, the BlueFil® pyramid grid, arranges monofilaments in stable, repeating pyramidal units, with almost all wires perpendicular to the gas stream.
That single geometric change does three things at once:
💨 Droplets slam into the fibers at higher relative velocity, so they're captured, not deflected
💧Captured droplets merge faster along the wetted, tortuous mesh path
🛑 Bulk liquid drains by gravity before re-entrainment can happen
The result: higher collection efficiency at a lower pressure drop than conventional mesh, which means lower energy consumption, and a measurable TCO reduction most customers see within the first operating year.
Sometimes the biggest performance gain doesn't come from a new material. It comes from rethinking the shape.
