The difference between good insulation and exceptional insulation can be measured in nanometres.
Aerogel achieves its thermal performance through an extremely fine porous structure. At Aerobel, we analyse whether those pores fall within a target range of 2 to 50 nanometres.
Why does that matter?
At this scale, the movement of air through the material is strongly limited. That helps reduce heat transfer and gives aerogel its exceptional insulating properties.
