A meeting is not finished when everyone agrees.
It is finished when the decision can survive the meeting.
Before closing your next project, security or AI discussion, write four lines:
DECISION — What exactly was agreed?
OWNER — Who can act and who may change course?
PROOF — What observable evidence will show that it is done or working?
REVISIT — On what date or trigger must the decision be reviewed?
Example:
Decision: require approval before a supplier receives production access.
Owner: service owner.
Proof: an approved access record and completed access review.
Revisit: when the supplier’s scope changes or within 90 days.
This takes two minutes. It reduces the familiar gap between “we discussed it” and “the operation changed”.
A concise decision record is not meeting administration. It is a small unit of operational governance: a choice, an accountable person, evidence and a feedback point.
