The Handover #2 is out; the weekly Clinicians That Code briefing.
The number that stuck with me this week: 93% of health systems run third-party AI, but only 44% have a dedicated environment to test it in. Nearly everyone says they test before deployment. Far fewer are equipped to. That gap between claiming to test and being able to test is exactly where clinician-builders earn their keep.
Also in this issue:
- A physician assistant's iOS simulator for the ABEM oral boards
- A web-based ECG synthesiser with physiological modelling
- An insulin titration app from a metabolic physician
- Four lawsuits testing where AI accountability lands in healthcare
- Six new names in the clinician-builder directory (now 35 verified builders)
