🧬🔬 Spatial biology now lets scientists see which cells are present, what they express, and how they're arranged within tissue. Pharma and academic teams are building spatial tissue atlases across organs and diseases, creating foundational references that connect omics data to tissue architecture. But turning raw multi-modal data into an interactive atlas is hard - Aspect Analytics provides the tools to do it.
🐭Case in point: Prof. Griffiths W.J.(Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe) and Dr. Shazia Khan (The University of Edinburgh) used MALDI-MSI and LESA-MSI to detect neurosteroids and sterols in mouse brain. To turn that raw data into a usable atlas, they turned to Aspect Analytics.
Using Weave, we co-registered their mass spectrometry imaging data with matched histology images and the Allen Institute's Mouse Brain Atlas, and provided an interactive 3D interface for users to explore the data. Just zoom, toggle between molecules, sexes, and datasets, and instantly see how different lipids light up across specific regions. No coding needed.
🤔 Building a spatial tissue atlas and wrestling with how to put the data together? Watch their LIPIDMAPS webinar on our blog to see how it's done.
