Compliance is a discipline, not a destination. After all the heavy lifting of setting up processes, mapping departments and/or building a RoPA, it might be tempting to feel like you've "arrived" somewhere... Until something new pops up.
It always does.
Especially in complex organizations, that cycle never stops: new business units, new tools, new regulations, new risks... The goalposts move because the organization moves.
The ISO world has a phrase for this: continual improvement, which isn't a status to achieve, but rather a practice to maintain.
You will never be done. The goal is to keep getting better.
