Most companies still treat AI like a very well-read intern: useful for questions, checked twice before anything happens. OpenAI's newest research on enterprise adoption shows the leaders have moved past that.
Frontier firms now generate about 8x more output per active user than typical firms which is up from 2.6× back in January. That gap isn't closing. It's opening.
The difference isn't which model people use. It's what they let it do:
- 21% of active users at frontier firms use Plugins, versus 9% at typical firms.
- 19% use Skills, versus 3%.
- Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, is spreading well beyond engineering with Exponential growth in Legal, Sales, Recruiting and marketing
None of this is about asking AI better questions. It's about handing it real work, with a real owner, and checking the outcome instead of the process.
That's the shift you should be making the following weeks. Pick a workflow your team already trusts, and give it to an agent end to end. move that pilot out of your slide deck.
We build these side by side with our clients, so the workflow stays owned by your team from day one, not by us.
If you want a clear next step for yours, let's talk.
