Tropical timber activity expands in three markets
Indonesia, Brazil and Gabon moved above the 50-point GTI threshold in July.
Timber-sector activity improved in parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America in July.
The Global Timber Index showed expansion in Indonesia, Brazil and Gabon, with readings above 50. Other pilot markets, including Ghana, Ecuador, Thailand, China, Mexico and Malaysia, remained below the expansion threshold.
For tropical timber markets, the signal is cautious: improvement is visible, but recovery is still uneven across regions.
