Canada targets pulp and paper in counter-tariffs
The sector is named, but exact product lines and rates are still pending.
Canada will include pulp and paper in its next round of counter-tariffs on US goods.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada would respond “dollar for dollar” and target sectors including pulp and paper. The detailed product list and tariff rates had not yet been published at the time of the Fordaq article.
For forest-products companies, the next key document will be the tariff schedule. That will decide the practical impact on cross-border pulp, paper and converted-product trade.
