The mHealth market is on track to hit $206 billion by 2026. Only 2% of the people who download these apps actually stick around to use them. That gap isn't a marketing problem. Health apps ask users to do the hard thing, log a meal, take a pill, check a glucose reading, with nothing but good intentions to bring them back. About 10% make it past 90 days. Only 7% of health apps ever cross 50,000 monthly active users. The ones that break that pattern turn the task itself into the reward. MyFitnessPal built its comeback loop on a daily streak. MySugr JR pays out points for the same glucose checks kids used to dread, and passed a million users doing it. Mango Health turned medication reminders into a raffle entry. None of that is about making health "fun". It's about giving a repeated, unrewarding task a reason to happen again tomorrow. We pulled apart what separates health apps stuck at 2% engagement from the ones building daily habits. #Gamification #HealthTech #UserRetention #ProductStrategy
