Next up in our „Meet our Technology Roadmap Leaders“ series: Costel Ungureanu, Dean of the Faculty of Naval Architecture at Universitatea „Dunărea de Jos” din Galați, Romania, and one of the experts shaping the Blue Economy Roadmap.
With a background spanning both industry and academia, Costel brings practical experience as a marine surveyor with a classification society in the areas of ship construction, safety and regulatory compliance, alongside his work in research, education and innovation.
Within the WaterborneTP, he serves as Romania’s National Primary Point of Contact and Roadmap Leader for Zero-Emission Modular and Multi-Mission Vessels for the Blue Economy.
His expertise covers ship design and construction, hydrodynamics, autonomous systems, aquaculture and sustainable maritime technologies, which all contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for the future of the European waterborne sector.
