Next in our Technology Leaders series, we are highlighting Jessica Hjerpe Olausson, Director for Maritime Systems Innovation at Maritime at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden), and her technical contribution to the Blue Economy Roadmap.
Jessica has a broad range of responsibilities, including remotely operated and automated vessels and drones, energy efficiency and alternative fuels, risk analysis, renewable ocean energy systems, SME support, marine restoration and ocean governance.
Having been deeply involved in EU Blue Growth and Blue Economy policy since its launch, Jessica has also led the Maritime Cluster of West Sweden, supporting the implementation of Blue Economy approaches across the region.
Her experience across research, industry, public policy and regional development provides a valuable perspective on how innovation can help unlock the potential of a sustainable and resilient Blue Economy.
