Defining the Optimal Therapeutic Approach in Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Novel Strategies Versus Gemcitabine-Cisplatin
A meta-analysis of three phase III trials in cisplatin 🧪eligible muscle-invasive #BladderCancer shows that intensified or immune-based neoadjuvant regimens outperform gemcitabine-cisplatin. EVP produced the strongest improvements in event-free survival, overall survival, and pathologic complete response, while GC plus durvalumab and ddMVAC also improved outcomes. However, cross-trial differences and limited follow-up warrant caution. The findings underscore a rapidly evolving perioperative landscape and raise important questions about biomarkers 🎯 , overtreatment, toxicity, and bladder preservation.
