Resortecs
TLDR
Resortecs is a Brussels-based startup enabling textile recycling at scale through heat-dissolvable stitching technology, with EUR 8.7M raised.
Overview
Founded in 2017 in Brussels by Cedric Vanhoeck and Vanessa Counaert, Resortecs has developed a system of heat-dissolvable stitching threads and compatible disassembly infrastructure for the fashion and textile industry. Garments stitched with Resortecs' Smart Stitch thread can be disassembled automatically in a thermal chamber, separating fabric panels, zippers, and labels without mechanical cutting, enabling cleaner material recovery for recycling.
With EUR 8.7M raised in total, the company works with fashion brands to integrate the stitching at manufacturing stage, making end-of-life recycling a designed-in feature rather than an afterthought. The model addresses a fundamental bottleneck in textile circularity: most garments are too complex to disassemble economically at scale.
Resortecs positions Belgium as a hub for circular fashion technology, alongside the country's broader cleantech and circular economy innovation.
