Cedric Vanhoeck

Vanhoeck and co-founder Vanessa Counaert founded Resortecs in 2017. Their Smart Stitch thread dissolves at high temperature in a low-oxygen oven, allowing garments to come apart in roughly twelve minutes without damaging the fabric. The company has raised in multiple rounds including EUR 2.2 million seed in 2023 led by ScaleFund and finance.Brussels, a EUR 2.5 million EU grant, and EUR 6 million in a 2025 growth round. Resortecs won the H&M Foundation Global Change Award in 2018 and the Henry van de Velde Award in 2023.
