Geert Caenen

Caenen earned an MSc in Mathematics from KU Leuven (1993-1999) and joined the Visics-PSI computer-vision group, where he worked alongside Kurt Cornelis and Rik Fransens before the three co-founded Apixa (originally Vision++) in 2007. He has stayed in operations since launch, currently as COO.

His applied focus is vision-based AI for safety in industrial settings, including forklift collision avoidance, person detection, and deflectometry-based surface inspection. He is based in Leuven.
