- Would I do it again? Would you? ✈️ 2.5 weeks, half the globe, all for Aortex. 😴 That kind of trip has its price, as you can see in the diagramm. You sleep less, you sleep worse than at home, and it takes a toll on your body. Two nights I skipped sleep completely. Adrenaline kept me awake and focused through pitches, events and discussions, but I definitely came home with a few more grey hairs. 🔥 So would I do it again? Hell yes. - Last week, Maximilian Dunker and Henry Stehle were at the #4C Unplugged event in Tübingen, and it was well worth the trip! 🤝 We split up to cover more ground. - How often do you get the chance to challenge yourself for 3 days straight? Aortex took part in the Soglio Innovation Catalyst by VP Venture Partners. 🔬The scenery was incredible (as you can see...), but the real highlight was the incredible diversity of healthtech startups coming straight out of research across #Europe. 💡Spending three days with the VP Venture Partners team gave us plenty of time to put our own approach to the test. - We won the Audience Award at #TechBIZKON X: LifeTECH+ in #Tokyo! 🎟️ The award comes with a ticket as an exhibitor at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2027. - Filing a patent feels overwhelming. Start anyway. 💡 Nearly 2 years after application, we received the full WIPANO grant by Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie. When we began protecting our technology at Aortex, the process looked like a mountain: legal language, fees, deadlines, funding programs. The truth is that taking the first step matters more than having it all figured out: 1️⃣ Get advice from public institutions. Our first stop was the Handelskammer Hamburg. - Our CEO Henry Stehle is in Japan for Aortex, and on Friday he will pitch at #TechBIZKON X: LifeTECH+ in #Tokyo, the tenth edition of the startup event connecting the European and Japanese innovation ecosystems. 🤝 Besides insightful visits to medical technology companies, the trip is above all about exchange and networking in one of the most important markets for cardiovascular surgery worldwide. For our next generation aortic stent grafts, early dialogue with Japanese clinicians, partners and investors is invaluable.
