Overview

Bluecrux is a supply chain consulting and technology company headquartered in Aalst and Mechelen. Its origins go back to 2011, when Koen Jaspers founded The Crux in Mechelen and Mikael Pensaert, Geert Vanhove and Geert Wullaert founded Bluegrass Consulting in Brussels. The two firms combined in December 2015 under the Bluecrux name, with about 30 consultants and offices in Mechelen and Anderlecht. The company sells consulting on planning transformation, integrated business planning and supply chain optimisation, and develops three software products: Axon for value chain analytics and decision intelligence, Binocs for planning and scheduling in QC labs and advanced therapies, and Helion for commercial supply planning in biotech. Binocs started in 2015 with two pharmaceutical companies as co-creators; by 2021 it was used by more than 1,000 teams. Bluecrux partners with Anaplan, OMP and Kinaxis. Named clients include Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Roche, UCB, Merck, Heineken, Danone, Bridgestone and AkzoNobel. Life sciences accounts for about half of revenue. Down 2 Earth Capital took a stake in June 2019 and exited in July 2022. Bluecrux opened a New Jersey office in 2019, acquired the Galway lab software company PlanDomino in 2021, moved its US headquarters to Millburn, New Jersey in 2023 under Scott Barnard, Managing Director North America, and opened a Warsaw office in 2026. Headcount reached about 250 in 2023 across Belgium, the US, Ireland and the Netherlands; the company now runs 10 offices in 9 countries. In May 2026 Gartner named Bluecrux a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for Specialist Supply Chain Strategy, Planning and Operations Consulting. Koen Jaspers is co-founder and CEO.
