- It's a wrap for gamescom dev! 🇩🇪 Our first time at Europe's biggest game developer conference was a not only a great opportunity to connect with peers and industry leaders, but also attend workshops, talks and roundtables about all things that are important to the business. Here are some of our favorites: 🗝️ The opening keynote by Amir Satvat (The Game Industry Reset: What happened and what comes next?) 🏃♂️ The talk by Julius Girbig (Technical animation: Making the most of your animations) 📱 The AMA with Dennis Quaisser,
- It is my first time at Gamescom Dev and before kicking off day 2 I want to reflect on yesterday's keynote. We all know the games industry is going through a rough time but I was amazed that according to research globally only 4% of new graduates with some form of game degree are finding a job. No, I did not make a mistake it is only 4%. (akkording to this study) Happy to say that at Cybernetic Walrus we currently employ 3 freshly graduated game devs, but I have to be honest and say they are on a temporary contract for now.
- The Abduction Update has been live for just a few minutes and already has intergalactic approval! ⚡For the past week, members of our Discord community have been getting their hands on daily beta builds of the Abduction Update, helping us spot inconsistencies, zap bugs, and fine-tune the economy. Most importantly, they’ve been telling us what they loved (and what they just found confusing), helping us tweak the game to maximize the fun. 👽 Working so closely with our playtesters has been both incredibly useful and a lot of fun.
- Welcome to the team Anton Sokolov, Stef Janssens & Lennert Saerens! 🦭We’re happy to have you on board as you strengthen our development team with your expertise, creativity, and experience. With ambitious projects ahead, we're excited to see the impact you will make. There are a lot of new directions to explore, features to build, ideas to bring to life... and we’re looking forward to doing it together. Let’s make something great! 🎮 #Gamedev
- We’re happy to announce that the next Roadside Research update will release next week Tuesday! It finally adds something no alien can live without: abductions! 🛸 But that's not all. We took community feedback to heart and focused on turning frustration into fun: 🤖 Players said that they initially liked the hands-on restocking but told us it became tedious very quickly. So, we added a cute robot to take some of the work off their four-fingered alien hands. The twist? It only restocks your store shelves after you assign items
- Exciting news from our publisher Oro Interactive! Congratulations on this great milestone for the Belgian game industry 🇧🇪
- Today, our interns from Howest - Digital Arts and Entertainment gave their final presentations, reflecting on their four-month journey at Cybernetic Walrus. It was inspiring to hear about the skills they developed, the challenges they overcame, and how working on Roadside Research has shaped their career plans. As valued members of the team, they not only participated in feature design discussions, the creation of prototypes, and the implementation of new systems. In addition to their more general contributions, each intern also
