Overview
EDGX develops edge AI compute solutions for the satellite industry, enabling on-board processing of data directly on satellites rather than transmitting raw data to ground stations. This on-board processing capability reduces latency, bandwidth requirements, and communication costs for Earth observation and other satellite applications.
The company is backed by imec.istart, the deep tech accelerator linked to imec, the world-leading nanoelectronics research center in Leuven. imec's involvement suggests EDGX has access to advanced semiconductor design tools and a deep technical talent network. PMV (ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen), the Flemish government investment arm, co-invested in the EUR 2.3M seed round in August 2025.
EDGX operates at the intersection of Belgium's semiconductor expertise (anchored by imec) and the growing European commercial space industry.
