Overview
Wouter Benoot co-founded EDGX in 2023 alongside Nick Destrycker, serving as CTO. A civil engineer by training, Benoot was inspired after finishing second in an ESA trainee programme. He joined as the first employee and was eventually promoted to co-founder and CTO. EDGX raised EUR 2.3M in seed funding from imec.istart and PMV in August 2025.

- Is radiation testing an NVIDIA Jetson Thor dangerous? You'd assume so. During the beam most of the protons slam into the brass collimators and the surrounding equipment. So our test setup comes out mildly radioactive for a couple of days. Now, to be fair, we sit a room away behind several metres of concrete shielding... so there's no real danger. But there's the fan. - A month ago, I watched TerraSpark pitch solar power distribution from space. One of the more convincing pitches I've sat through. I walked out completely sold on the vision. One analogy from their CEO Jasper D. stuck with me: He compared pitching space-based solar power to explaining the oil industry to someone 200 years ago. Imagine the pitch back then: we'll drill holes in the seabed, pump up the dinosaur juice, ship it across oceans, and burn it to move everything around. Absurd, right? That's roughly how SBSP sounds right now.
