Overview
EdTech Station is the Belgian hub for technology providers in the field of learning solutions. It connects EdTech companies with clients and end users, the educational and academic world, industry and public authorities, and brings together corporates, startups, researchers and professionals in educational technology. The organisation was created by KU Leuven, Hangar K and ITEC and was officially launched on 4 May 2022 by Minister Hilde Crevits at Hangar K in Kortrijk. It is based at Nelson Mandelaplein 2 in Kortrijk and has a Wallonia office in Tournai, where Amandine Coutant is Founder of EdTech Station Wallonia. Thomas Van Cauwenberghe is Station Chief and Annelies Volckaert is Research & Innovation Lead. The team counts 2-10 employees. Founding members include Agoria, Voka, Televic, PLAY IT, Azumuta, Neo, Squidll and Epyc. Barco, Academic Software and Cronos Groep are partners and sponsors, and VLAIO is listed as a partner. The hub has 150 active member organisations and has mapped 408 EdTech initiatives in Belgium, a sector it puts at €1B+ combined turnover and 7000+ jobs. Research projects include SAGE (AI-driven spoken language assessment), NOVAI (AI systems for adult education), BOOST (a testing framework for digital learning materials) and XCEL (AI-driven learning analytics agents).
