Overview
The product line consists of Virto.MAX for conceptual PV design, which combines satellite analysis, shading, financial modelling and incentives, Virto.CAD for CAD-based PV engineering with automated module layouts, shadow analysis and string plans, and Virto.CORE, a configurator for mounting system manufacturers. Add-ons Virto.RISE and Virto.LIVE complete the range. Supported project types are commercial and industrial rooftops, utility-scale ground mount installations and solar carports. Users include sales engineers, project developers, PV engineers, EPC teams, solar wholesalers and mounting system manufacturers. The company was founded in 2019 as Virtuosolar by Kim Eyckmans, who had worked in the EPC industry. Development of CAD and web solutions started in 2020, and in 2021 the company received an innovation grant from VLAIO. In 2022 it rebranded to Virto Solar and launched Virto.CORE. The team grew internationally in 2023 and moved to a larger office. Virto.MAX launched in 2024, followed by the Virto.CAD 2.0 redesign in 2025. Expansion plans from 2026 target Southeast Asia, India, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. Virto Solar is a Belgian BV based at Antwerpseweg 1 in Geel. The latest financial records list approximately 31.2 full-time equivalents.

- For EPC teams, every project moves through multiple stages, from site assessment and PV layout to system configuration, customer approval, and engineering. When these steps happen across disconnected tools, valuable time can be lost transferring data, rebuilding designs, and waiting for engineering input. A connected workflow helps keep the project moving. In this carousel, we break down the key steps of a connected solar workflow and how EPC teams can move from early-stage feasibility to engineering more efficiently. Swipe through
- Yesterday, our Head of Transformation and Product Manager MAX, Joris Hias, took the stage at EU PVSEC to share Virto Solar's perspective on creating value with AI in solar design. From connected data to AI-native workflows, the discussion explored how AI can help create better, more responsible solutions across the PV project lifecycle. - Have you ever had to redo a PV design because of one small detail? A PV system isn't designed for just today. It's expected to perform for 20+ years, often across projects with thousands of modules. That's why a small design mistake can become an expensive problem. An overlooked constraint or inaccurate detail can lead to redesigns, additional engineering work, material changes, installation delays, or performance issues later in the project. With Virto.CAD, you can work with mechanical constraints (e.g. wind loads; clamping; roof
- If you’re someone who wants more control over every detail of a PV design, this update is for you. The latest Virto.MAX release brings new capabilities for electrical configuration, ground-mounted PV design, shading, BESS placement, inverter positioning, and string configuration. From visualizing shadows and placing BESS to defining preferred string lengths and refining building designs without starting over, these updates give you more flexibility to explore and refine your projects.
