Alex Wauters is based in Leuven and works as a software engineer at Aikido Security, a role he took up in August 2026. From May 2023 until August 2026 he was CTO of Customaite.
Before that he spent February 2021 to May 2023 at Uber as a staff software engineer, and the preceding year at Cardiogram as a senior software engineer. From May 2014 to March 2020 he was a senior technical consultant at AE nv/sa, overlapping with two technical lead positions: at bpost's AI division from June 2014 to December 2017, and at Brussels Airport Company from April 2018 to March 2020. He began his career in October 2011 as an information security consultant with Deloitte Enterprise Risk Services, where he remained until May 2014.
Wauters studied informatics at KU Leuven, completing a Master of Science in 2011, and spent 2010 studying artificial intelligence at The University of Osaka.
