- A wrong chart gets corrected in a meeting. A wrong parcel, a refused credit or a wrong tax return is already done by the time someone notices. That difference is why it matters where the choice between conflicting values gets made. Part 2 of Dirk Vermeiren's series looks at what happens when a stage is missing, and why AI should design the survivorship rule but never execute it row by row. #DataModeling #AI #DataQuality
- CRM says 48,000 customers. ERP says 51,000. The web shop says 63,000. Your AI assistant gives a fourth number, and then someone acts on it. Each system counts correctly by its own rules. What nobody did was decide, once and upstream, which records are the same customer and which value counts when they disagree. Dirk Vermeiren starts a five-part series on survivorship: the rule that makes that decision, records why, and keeps the values that lost. Part 1 is live. A new part every day this week. #DataModeling #DataQuality #MasterData
