Overview
Geert founded Oper Credits in 2018 alongside Nick Van Berckelaer and Wouter Lachat, after the three had worked together at EY helping lenders optimise their mortgage processes. Oper raised EUR 11 million in Series A funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners and ABN Amro Ventures, growing to a 45-person team spread across 16 cities in Europe.
The platform works as a white-label solution that allows banks and brokers to digitise the process from initial contact to contract signing. Geert has been featured on the Voice of Fintech podcast discussing the company's mission to cut mortgage time-to-yes dramatically across European retail banking.

- Oper and Herman AI are featured in Sifted's new report on AI adoption in Europe. The report asks why AI is spreading slowly through European companies, and finds the bottleneck sits inside organizations more than in the technology. Banking comes out as one of the sectors furthest ahead. The report cites the European Central Bank, which reports that over 85% of the banks it supervises now use AI, with document analysis among the fastest-moving areas.
