Overview
Johannes Charlier is the managing director of Kreavet, based in Kruibeke. He took up that role in May 2022, having joined Kreavet in August 2017 as an animal health consultant.
Before that, Charlier was chief technology officer at Avia-GIS from June 2015 to July 2017. From 2002 to 2015 he was a senior researcher at Ghent University, where he also completed his studies: a degree in veterinary medicine and a doctorate in veterinary parasitology.

Until now, it had never been estimated globally. #Tungiasis is a neglected tropical skin disease caused by sand fleas and disproportionately affects vulnerable communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Despite its inclusion in the WHO Neglected Tropical Diseases Roadmap since 2021, its global health burden had remained unquantified. Q-fever remains a neglected #OneHealth zoonosis where animal infection and environment determine human exposure. Coordinated preparedness between sectors is key to achieve results.
