Ansoult is a bioengineer and holds a PhD in science. Before Exquando he worked in the IT department of Brussels Airport, at Capgemini and in the space sector. He frames the method around the infoSystem Model Canvas, a canvas inspired by the Business Model Canvas that puts trustworthy information at the centre and links the software where information is stored, digitalisation of processes and tools, change management, governance, and shared vocabulary. For governance he draws on Elinor Ostrom's work on common resources and applies three principles: involve users, put control and supervision in place, and interlock departmental governance with organisational governance. He says organisations often think their problem is technological while it comes from a lack of rules, roles and shared decisions, and that a tool without governance stays an empty shell. Exquando recruits archivists, document controllers and certified information management consultants, some from library sciences and some from engineering, and trains them in an in-house academy. Ansoult says one colleague used to be a nurse and another a social worker.
Marc Ansoult is the founder and managing director of Exquando, a Belgian consultancy in information governance and document management that presents itself as the infoSystem Agency. Exquando SA was registered on 2 October 2009 as a public limited company with enterprise number 0819.213.104, holds its registered seat in Rixensart and works from Avenue Edison in Wavre. Ansoult has held the function of managing director since 23 August 2013 and has been a director of the company since 8 August 2023. The firm covers three areas: document control for architecture, engineering and construction projects, enterprise information management, and information asset preservation. It counts 58 collaborators, reports 629 missions carried out since 2009, obtained ISO 9001 certification in 2024 and reported a 96% customer satisfaction rate for 2025. Clients include Elia, UCB, GSK, BESIX, Equans, IMEC and Technord, alongside municipalities and NGOs, and the company handled document management on Elia's Princess Elisabeth offshore project. In October 2025 a consortium of Numen Europe, Exquando, Labgroup and Eowin was awarded a four-year European framework contract worth more than 20 million euros for document and archive management across around 20 European institutions, with Exquando deploying more than 20 archivists. Exquando was nominated among the 2026 Trends Gazelles for Brabant Wallon in the SME category, and Ansoult was interviewed on LN24 in the Pépite de Patron series.
