Mario Hertegonne

Overview

Mario Hertegonne is CEO of Desotec and is based in Roeselare. He held the CEO role at the company from January 2015 to January 2023 and chaired its board from February 2023. He has chaired the board of advisors of AQUALEX since February 2023, having been a member of that board from February 2020, and has sat on the board of advisors of Carpentier Hardwood Solutions since February 2018. He has owned HERCON BV and served as a board member of Vergalle Group since March 2006, and was CEO of Vergalle Group until December 2014.

Between 2007 and 2014 he was CEO of Stokota, and he was CEO of Inalco NV from May 2007 to September 2013 before joining its board until December 2014. He was also a board director of Avasco Industries from 2006 to 2014. Earlier he was vice president marketing and sales at Bekaert ECD Solar Systems, and before that group business development manager and project manager at Bekaert. He worked as a senior management consultant at Stanwick Management Consultants from 1995 to 1998 and was an associate at Vlerick Business School from 1989 to 1994.

He holds an MBA in industrial engineering from Vlerick Business School and a master's in mathematics and ICT from Ghent University, and attended Sint-Barbaracollege.
