Overview
Pieterjan Verhaeghen is co-founder and chief executive of Bolt, which he co-founded in March 2018 and where he remains based in Brussels. Since May 2025 he has also been a co-founder of Plenty.
Before Bolt, he founded IDMG consulting, where he worked as a management consultant from 2015 to 2018. He began his career at Sia Partners, joining in 2012 as a junior management consultant in energy and utilities and continuing there as a management consultant in the same practice until 2015.
He studied applied economics and business engineering at KU Leuven, completing a bachelor's degree in 2009 and a master's degree in 2011, and spent 2010 to 2011 at the Universidad de Sevilla for a master's degree in applied economics. He went on to take a Master of Science in environmental engineering technology at Ghent University in 2012.
