Salvatore Curaba

Overview

Salvatore Curaba was born on 27 August 1963 in La Louvière, to parents who emigrated from Sicily in 1956. In 1988 he joined IBS as a commercial employee in Brussels and became sales manager, leaving in 1998. On 26 March 1999 he founded the IT company Easi with Christian Castelain and later became its sole managing partner. Easi sells enterprise software including the Adfinity ERP, SmartSales and Rooftop, along with cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity services, and runs an employee shareholding scheme open to staff with at least two years of service. In September 2019 Curaba appointed Jean-François Herremans and Thomas Van Eeckhout as co-CEOs and remained president of the board of directors; by 2021 his own shareholding had become a minority stake. In 2017 he took over matricule 94 and moved the club to La Louvière as RAAL La Louvière, which he owns and chairs. The club was promoted to the Belgian first division for the 2025-26 season and plays at the Easi Arena.

Curaba was the youngest of five children in a family that arrived in Belgium from Sicily in 1956; his father worked in the mines at Saint-Vaast, Fontaine-l'Évêque and Bois-du-Luc. He studied Latin-mathematics in secondary school and then took a diploma in computer science. He has given conferences in Belgium, France and Luxembourg on entrepreneurship and wellbeing at work since 2014.

Curaba retains a president role at Easi, focusing on long-term strategy, ownership culture, and the company's employee-shareholder model. He is a prominent figure in the Wallonian tech ecosystem.
