Sven Van den Berghe is the founder and chief executive of PanTera, a role he has held since June 2022. He is based in Mol.
Before founding PanTera, Van den Berghe spent his career at SCK CEN, where he led an expert group from 1998 to July 2016 and then served as stakeholder manager for the BR2 reactor until December 2017. He was Institute Director at SCK CEN from December 2017 to June 2022, and from June 2022 to November 2023 he was stakeholder manager for reactor conversion there, overlapping with his first months at PanTera.
He studied physics at Ghent University, completing a Master of Science in 1996, and obtained a PhD in ceramic materials science from the Université de Limoges between 1997 and 2001. He completed his secondary education at Sint-Jozef-Klein-Seminarie.
