⚽ 🌡️ When heat starts shaping the game beyond the pitch
This World Cup is not only showing how football adapts to new conditions.
It is also showing how cities, stadiums and energy systems are being tested by hotter summers.
Hydration breaks, extreme heat warnings, cooling needs and pressure on local infrastructure all point to a wider issue: summer energy demand is becoming harder to predict and harder to manage.
And this is not only a stadium problem.
The same pattern appears in schools, sports halls, municipal buildings and city-owned facilities. On hot days, cooling demand can rise quickly, often at the exact moment when electricity systems are already under pressure.
This is where energy management becomes more than just monitoring consumption.
It helps municipalities and building operators understand when demand peaks are likely to occur, where energy is being used inefficiently, and how different buildings can be managed as part of a wider system rather than as isolated consumers.
Large sporting events make the issue visible. Cities face it every summer.
The question is no longer only how we keep buildings cool.
It is how we keep them cool without overheating the energy system.
