Yesterday, we had the pleasure of joining the Utrecht Summer School on biofabrication with BIO INX—an event that is slowly becoming an annual tradition for us!
Jasper Van Hoorick had the opportunity to share his personal journey, from his master's thesis and PhD at Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials group Ghent University to co-founding BIO INX together with our CSO, Aysu Arslan, and our former PI and current scientific advisor, Sandra. Van Vlierberghe. It was a great opportunity to discuss the transition from academic research to entrepreneurship and how scientific discoveries can be translated into real-world impact.
In the afternoon, it was time to get hands-on. During a practical workshop, the students were introduced to the power of light-based biofabrication—From Light to Life—through live demonstration prints using our biodegradable, biocompatible, shape-memory DLP resin, DEGRES INX.
It is always a pleasure to interact with the next generation of scientists and hopefully provide some inspiration for their own journey. Every year, the enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion of the Utrecht Summer School participants are truly inspiring and a reminder of the bright future of our field.
Another fantastic edition! Congratulations to Jos Malda and Riccardo Levato for organizing yet another outstanding Summer School, and a big thank you for the invitation.
Until next year!
